sunny-isms (take three) (or is it four?)

just a couple of sunny-isms for your pleasure:
we seem to have reached a new strange place in the world of imaginary friends. sunny told me today, holding out his john deere catalogue, "this is my friend. his name is catalogue-y. he talks to me."
now i had an imaginary friend named lucy for years growing up. i realize that this is developmentally appropriate. but i don't know how comfortable i'm going to feel having imaginary conversations with pictures of farm toys.
sunny obviously has no qualms about it.:)

with three adults (jon left today) and two children in the house, i've noticed that it's somehow easier to lose track of them. seriously, sunny was almost seriously burned one vacation in california, because each of the five adults thought someone else was watching him. so i always try to make sure i know where my babies are, and who's responsible for them at any given time. and when the house was particularly quiet this afternoon, i called, "sailor!" when no one answered, i wandered around feeling just the beginnings of worry hollering, "where's sailor? who has sailor?"
a very small voice answered from sunny's room, "i do! i has her, mommy!"

i didn't know whether or not to be relieved. :) i was, however, very amused. :)

The obsession with the John Deere just totally amuses me. And now it's a whole 'nother level. "Catalog-y"? Hee hee!!! And I know he's been into it for a long time now since he wanted the John Deere set he got Ana back in January (or I think February by the time we had her party). That's an admirable attention span--5 months so far!

Sorry we're missing the birthday party this weekend! Happy birthday, Sunny Reid!
