sailor had a truly explosive poop tonight. and i picked her up without realizing it, and got it on myself, when it was already all over the highchair (i had been feeding her at the time - literally in one end and out the other), and her clothes, and everywhere. there is really no good way to deal with something like this. it always gets worse before it gets better.
but this explains why sailor was naked (except for her diaper. never, never let a baby run around without a diaper. ever.) in the garage tonight while jon poked around in the overhead and sunny climbed up and down the ladder behind him. and there's really no rest of the story except for that: naked baby, climbing boy, cool pleasant night wind in the garage, pajama-pant clad husband banging around in the crawl space. it all felt very surreal. and we put some christmas stuff up and pulled two boxes of clothing down that sailor can wear now, and we should have gotten out three months ago. such is life.
when sunny woke up from his nap today he told me this elaborate story about a large green moon who sang a song to him. i'm not sure if he was dreaming or remembering something or what, but he kept asking if the moon was up in the sky. (it wasn't. especially not a large green operatic one. although that might make for a nice change.)
