redecorating

sailor loves to color and draw right now. she is at the art table in our kitchen constantly, making beautiful creations to share. she has also taught herself how to write her name, and most of her letters. and now that she has discovered how to make hearts, she draws and paints them on everything, too.

everything.

"mommy, let's paint," she says.

"let's paint with purple paint."

"let's paint the WALLS with purple paint."

"umm," i say hesitantly, "WHICH walls, exactly?"

"all of them. and hearts, too. purple paint and hearts."

"just the inside walls?"

"NO, mommy. the outside walls, too. it would be SO PRETTY."

(at this point jon interjects: "i don't think the homeowners association would go for that, sailor.")
