houston trip, day three

on the last day of our trip we checked out of our hotel and went to the museum of natural science. this was the main reason we were going to houston, because we had heard about the big dinosaur skeleton exhibit there.
and while sunny did like the four skeletons (here's a dark pic - they were high up! :), the rest of the museum was really over their heads. it was pretty disappointing, since it was the most expensive admission-wise of anything we went to.

the butterfly exhibit was pretty cool, though. ( you had to pay a separate admission!!) they had a huge three-story atrium full of live butterflies. the kids loved that part.
you can't see in this picture, but the air is full of brilliant butterflies!

after the museum of natural science, we drove home. it was a great weekend adventure. the omni hotel we stayed in was great, too... two big pools that the kids loved swimming in. i will admit that it's still a lot of work travelling with all of these little ones. silver especially was a little challenging - she was a cranky toddler from lack of routine and sleep. but overall, lots of fun... and a good practice run for our big vacation - which begins next thursday!!
