i had my first school project this weekend: sunny's "all about me" poster for star of the week. it is a poster telling - duh - all about him, and it hangs outside the classroom all week for all of the parents to look at and judge. um, i don't think that's REALLY why it hangs there, but it darn well feels like it. welcome to the world of school projects done by parents. i mean, what four-year-old is going to make his own poster?
so, in spite of knowing in my heart that the whole thing was not worth getting worked up over - i got worked up over it. and made a special trip to hobby lobby to buy special things for the poster. and picked out all kinds of special pictures for it. and spent lots of time making special decorations for it. and tried really hard to be relaxed and let sunny put stickers on it and color it. ("no- not there - no - not black - well, maybe a little black...")
it looks pretty good, if i do say so myself. and the random stickers and scribbling make me feel a little better about orchestrating the whole thing. i mean, he likes it. and that's all that matters.
