wednesday mornings it's just me and princess pea. we drop sunny off at school, then spend the rest of our stolen three hours running errands and playing. she still loves to play by herself, as long as i'm near by.
her newest favorite things?
-a set of brightly patterned wooden stringing beads in all different shapes and sizes.
-a shapes puzzle.
-a bug-catching jar sunny filled with playing cards - she can wear it around her neck, because it -has a strap, and open and close the lid.
-singing every song she knows, with or without an adult accompanying her. special favorites: itsy bitsy spider; twinkle, twinkle; and open, shut them, which she's been able to do by herself for months.
-markers, paint, and crayons, with or without paper to use them on.
-reading her three favorite board books, again with or without an adult: a tomie depaola version of nursery rhymes; barnyard banter, by denise fleming (she can make the noises of all of the animals by herself!); and barnyard dance, by sandra boynton.
(she also sleeps with those three books in her bed. :)
she is just so much fun to be around these days. she makes me laugh out loud - often. and she gives me spontaneous kisses, sometimes just when she's walking by.
of course, not nearly as often as i give them to her. preferably on her little round belly. ;)
