the playscape grows in the backyard.. it is a double tower structure modified by my husband, who is full of enthusiasm about building this for his son. and sunny is excited, too... it was a mini-barn-raising in our back yard this evening, as four guys hoisted three frames and jon screwed them together to be the bare-bones skeleton... sunny was fascinated, and wanted to climb on at once. he didn't want to leave it to get in the bath... the joy and awe of the very young...
sailor, of course, has no idea what all of the commotion is about. she'll not remember a time when there wasn't this enormous tower in her backyard, for her to climb on and swing from and play house under. so i'll take pictures now, because these are the beginnings and the memories. :)
she is almost one, amazingly enough. i can't believe it at all. but she is showing signs of a one-year-old: more deliberate in her actions, more decisive in her preferences.... she is still so small that it is hard to believe the quick and growing brain, until she purposefully manipulates you just where she wants you... or you turn your back to the sandbox full of wet sand and she CRAWLS IN....
