mom e-mailed me this random forward about how putting cut onions around your house sucks up germs and viruses and keeps everyone healthy. such was my desperation that i almost tried it - until i checked with my old buddy, snopes.com... and discovered, of course, that putting cut onions all around your house will only... um... make your house smell like onions.
sigh.

:o) Hahahaha! That sounds like some of the stuff the ancients used to do. One of my favorite books mentions how the old German tribes used to hang garlic all over the longhouses to keep away evil spirits that were causing a person to be sick. If only it were that easy!
