new shoes

things that are important to mommy when we go shopping for new shoes:
-they fit properly (sunny had gone up one size, sailor had gone up two)
-they will wear well (that means no shiny white, thank you very much - or flimsy straps)
-sunny can get them on independently (so no laces, yet)
-they don't cost as much as our mortgage (ok, so i'm exaggerating - a little. :)

things that are important to my children when we go shopping for new shoes:
-the store has toys, and room for running around
-the shoes have sparkles and or/light up - preferably both
-the shoes have really really bright colors on them (i guess so that they can be seen, in case the sparkles and lights fail :)

we managed to find compromises, yesterday... when i braved the shoe store with all three children in tow... sunny's shoes are blue and green, and the soles flash green lights when he runs. sailor's are sparkly gold. all over.

go figure.
