i walked down the aisle with my other half, and two became one flesh.
we had a long distance relationship for almost two years before we got married, and when we would take leave of each other after weekend visits (usually at the gate at the airport - this was before security kept you out in front), i used to feel like i had lost a limb - like part of myself was walking up the ramp onto that plane. i remember one time in LAX i was crying so hard after watching him leave that a complete stranger stopped and asked me if i was ok.
i have never stopped feeling that way... more like a soul bond than simply a soul mate... literally my other half... i was only nineteen when we first met, and some of the most formative years of my adulthood have been spent by his side.
these days our lives are full of busy-ness. our three young children take a toll in time, energy and emotion i couldn't conceive of before. i sometimes find myself missing those eight years we had just the two of us - with all of their ups and downs. but as we dive headlong into this new chapter in our lives, i am borne up by the strength we have together - strength in the Lord, strength as one.
