sunny drew me a picture on sunday at church. it was a 2 minute effort, which is about par for his attention span art-wise. his medium was markers on pink paper. he described it as "a rocket ship." (they studied space at school two weeks ago. now everything is about rocket ships and planets and space shuttles.)
"it's for you, mommy," he said with a big smile, presenting it with pride.
"thank you, sunny!" i said, with genuine delight.
"i made it just for you," he continued, "so you would know how much i love you."
(i can't think of a good follow-up comment for that. i'm blinking back sappy hormonal tears just remembering it. thank you, God, for the little things that make it all worthwhile. ;)
