we won't go until we get some

jon is walking sailor around the living room and singing only the last verse of "we wish you a merry christmas." how odd. :)

there's always a bit of a let-down today. as i grow up (i guess maybe i'm not quite there yet) i realize that i love the season of advent as much as christmas itself. a whole year seems a long time to wait! sunny asked last night if it would be christmas again today. i guess we all feel like that, a little bit.

ok, so here are some sunny-isms i've been saving up for a rainy day:

whenever he wants something difficult done, we're trying to teach him to say "help, please," instead of just whining his frustration. so now he says "help, please," and "daddy is a bewy bewy big strong man," when he wants something done that only jon can do (help him kick his legs up to the ceiling, for example). and when i can manage to do it (yes, there are some things i can do, too!) he says, "mommy, you a big strong man, too!"
ha!

sunny's newest musical accomplishment is accompanying himself on the piano while he sings (yes, still the same 4 songs). he likes to bang around on the keys. i wasn't sure what exactly he thought he was doing until we were listening to vince guaraldi, the peanuts' christmas soundtrack, which is all jazzy piano. he yelled from the back seat, "that's me playing! that's sunny playing!"
(i guess in his mind he's making beautiful music for us all!)

when he wants all of something, he opens his arms expansively and says, "ine uhmall! uhmall!"
( think it's a version of "them all.") (that's him, in a nutshell. he wants it all. God help me. :)

Finally catching up. Took my long break from computers, TV, phone and now I'm back to reality. Can't wait to teach Sunny to play. How great if he really wants to learn. I love that.
