silver shines

i totally have a toddler on my hands now. she doesn't just walk places - she runs, as fast as her stubby, chubby legs will let her. and if she sees me coming, she'll run faster! i have to tell the kids to ignore her and follow me - if we are all going one direction, usually she gives up doing her own thing to follow us. and she falls ALL THE TIME - but could care less. she just picks herself up and keeps on going.

but oh, she makes us laugh! when jon gets home, she runs screaming and waving her hands: "dadadadadada!" and heaven forbid he not pick her up RIGHT AWAY.

in fact, heaven forbid we not give her ANYTHING right away. she only seems to understand "now" and "right now, i mean it!" she screams and fusses like anything if we don't giver her what she wants (which is often, because usually what she wants involves things like chewing on the itouch, eating more than one gummy vitamin, banging on the computer keyboard, etc, etc...)

but usually she has such a happy sparkle in her eyes (although sometimes it's more of a mischievous sparkle, these days), and a boisterous disposition, that she makes people smile where ever we go. and she makes me smile almost all the time.

although she also really makes me want to pull out the" evil" toddler harness we used for sunny when we was this age.... :)

Kayla's finally (cross my fingers!) out of the run away phase. It took a long time! She's pretty good at stopping when I yell "stop!!!" too. Good thing... I don't think my heart can take anymore of the stress of envisioning major catastrophes that are about to happen!

E is such a sweetie, but his independent side has definitely been rearing its not-so-cute head! Even our good-natured kids can have toddler qualities that make us pull our hair out! But it sounds like you handle it beautifully. :)
