then, some days, they want to be best friends. they play together, giggle, make up funny jokes and stories. (and call each other "poopy-head." this never fails to send them both into peals of laughter. gross. :) those are the days i am so glad they are close in age. and i get to enjoy some peace and quiet - or some quality time with silver grace.
today we had about an hour of that blessed space. and i started thinking that maybe i shouldn't stress about their relationship so much. after all, i'm thirty-five, and i don't get along with everyone all of the time, either. especially not the people i spend the most time with. (sorry, honey. :) so how can i expect my three and five year olds to have perfected the art of interpersonal dynamics?
all i can do, as in every other area of their lives, is teach and train. monitor and adjust. observe and love.
and pray they are learning to love, too.

Sounds familiar... I'm sure they'll get along great when they're older!
