but don't worry

as i was getting up from my nap on sunday afternoon i got this text from my husband:

"at the emergency room... chest pains.... don't think it's serious."

now, honestly, how do you respond to that???

i had thought that he was at the verizon store getting his phone fixed. but the hospital is right next door, and i guess he never made it to verizon.

i called him and asked him if he were JOKING. he told me to stay at home and not to worry...
yeah, right.
so i called in reinforcements to come stay with the sleeping kids (thanks, les!) and took off to the new seton only five minutes away. it's a really nice hospital, by the way. i should know. i spent about five hours in an er triage room waiting for tests and test results. which all came back negative, leading the er doc to believe that his chest pains, while severe, were actually VIRAL - related to the fever he had all day on saturday.
WEIRD.
so, while jon still has to go in for a stress test (and probably more follow-up; he has a strong history of heart disease in his family), for now we are calm. again.
actually, i think i handled the whole business rather well. but i made it very, very clear that TEXTING IS NOT AN APPROPRIATE WAY TO TELL YOUR WIFE YOU ARE AT THE ER.
just so you know my feelings about the matter. :)

Yes, I do think you did an excellent job handling the whole thing. Plus, I got some fun special time with my two favorite kiddos.

Glad he's okay! We'll be praying that the follow up test goes well.
