and again

ah, sailor is sick again. i woke to her 1:30 am cries and entered her room to find a hot, hot little girl. here comes the infant motrin, cool cloths, and lots of rocking in our sweet glider (the one furniture purchase we splurged on before sunny, and worth every penny - and hour spent rocking in it).
and i couldn't help but think:
am i ready to do all of this again?
because sailor is old enough that i don't really panic when her skin is burning hot to the touch. aside from desperately high fevers, or other truly scary things, she's old enough to cope with most illnesses with minimal stress. but i remember so clearly when she was tiny, and every little fever and cough sent us running to the doctor. the first time she had the stomach flu. diarrhea on the carpet.
teething.
all of the small things you forget over time passed before my (very tired) eyes.
and i looked down at the sweet beautiful bundle curled over my large stomach, and rocked, and rocked, and thought:
yes. i would do it again. i will do it again.
it's all worth it.

Just think of all the experience you have now! You are a seasoned mother who is GREAT at her job! You can totally handle one more wee bundle of joy and messes. :o)
