well, so much for my new commitment to blog every day! i can only say that two toddlers, being pregnant, and a 15-hour overnight drive do not mix particularly well.
ok, honestly, it wasn't that bad. we made it just fine (except for almost running out of gas 15 miles from ozona at 1 am. the outside thermometer read 27 degrees. i'm still thanking God for that one! :). i am just still recovering from sleep deprivation - and from filling my house with clothes (clean and dirty), new toys (many of which still do not have a home), and an entire pantry of replacement groceries. not to mention the dead tree coming down (farewell, dead tree. we loved you while you lasted), and, on a more sober note, a very ill diabetic cat who unfortuately ended up needing to be put down. within hours of us arriving home.
so it's been busy.

i kept thinking this was going to be a relaxing week to catch up. it's a week to catch up, all right - but not necessarily relaxing! at least so far.

we did get to drive the gator to the big park today. sunny had tons of fun racing it around the big field. his driving terrifies sailor, who won't ride with him at all (although she does like to sit behind the wheel and pretend to drive herself. while the car is stopped.).

sunny said, as he was going to bed last night, "what was your favorite part of the day, mommy?" (i ask him that a lot. it was fun to hear it parroted back. plus, he really wanted to know, which was great. :)
he told me that he loves to snuggle "savor." "she's my sweetest girl." (but girl is still gwurl. it's very cute.)
and, "i'm very tired, mommy. i used up all of my energy running with maria."
he's full of adult-ish talk these days, repeating things he's heard that we didn't even know he was taking in. it's great fun to watch his little mind grow and absorb so much.
