teeth and tired

i swear, this is so bizarre. one week ago, sailor had no teeth. now she has two out and three more coming in - all at once. she is the explosive teething baby, and it's making her a little cranky - especially when she's tired. but i am excited about those teeth! i've been waiting to see her toothy baby smile. of course, it makes nursing a little more adventurous...
and for the last two days, sunny has been napless. "our son nappeth not," i texted to my husband. yesterday it was because of coughing. today was due to sheer energy. (wasn't that a brand of panty hose?) he has "sleep rules" to follow, and he was obedient, lying (somewhat) quietly in bed with the room dark, closing his eyes, and going to sleep. well, we got the first one going pretty well, but his eyes stayed wide open, and there was no sleep. he buried his head under his pillow for a while, which made me feel hopeful (he slept with his head under his pillow all night last night. we've been hoping that he would start to use a pillow; i guess we should have been a little more specific). but soon he emerged, still singing his own strange unintelligible version of "the farmer in the dell." i recognize the tune (sort of), but i have no idea what the words are...
so tonight he was exhausted. the only good thing about this is that he fell straight asleep at 8:30, and, if last night is any indication, will sleep pretty well straight through. (though he wakes us up with his coughing, he seems to be able to sleep through it if he's tired enough.
we'll see where this goes. i'm not ready for a napless life!! but the hour-long songs and conversations overheard while he lays there are almost worth it...
