christmas joy

i love this time of year. i adore going to the christmas tree farm and cutting down our tree; i love the way the house smells like pine (and christmas cookies); i sing along passionately to all of the carols i know by heart.

and as my children have gotten older, i have discovered a new joy:

dressing them in matching holiday clothes.

ahh, mock if you must, but it makes my heart glad to see sailor and silver in their matching red shirts that say, "i'm santa's favorite!" across the front. (not to mention the matching black pants and red hair ribbons.) and i just melt at the sight of their matching scarlet velour dresses and identical pony tails.

what a total psycho mommy i am.
