with silver turned three, now our princess turns five. sailor raine is still petite at five, all muscles and bones and wild, dark-blonde, shoulder length hair. (she loves to wear it down, and it defies my every effort to keep it from flying in a messy halo around her face!!) one of her teachers yesterday called her "my little chickadee," and she is - all tiny, wiry energy and smiles.
she is passionate about her friends - and she has many! for a shy child, she makes them wherever we go. she is also in love with anything art-y, from drawing and painting to making collages and sticker mosaics. she can write her name and sound out some words. she is so ready for kinder in the fall!
she can play with - and fight with - her sister for hours. like silver (and with silver) she plays pollies and barbies and littles pet shops; cooking in the play kitchen and dressing up like the princess she is. she gives as good as she gets with sunny, from light saber battles to wrestling matches. she can definitely hold her own with boys and girls of all ages, which is really fun to see.
she can still sometimes shut down and get quiet when she feels unsure, especially around adults. but for the most part she has come out of her shell: a happy, dancing, song-singing (she makes them up as she goes), God-loving, little fairy of a child.
happy birthday, princess mine. i have loved to watch you grow these last five years. i can't wait to see what's next.
