so we have been on vacation for the last several days, driving and then spending time with jon's parents in their "cabin" (read large, beautiful log home) in the mountains of western North Carolina. We have hiked to waterfalls, swum in lakes, panned for gemstones, and taken lots of rides around backroads and trails in the four-seater "Mule" - kind of an off-road golf cart. It's been great, and in two days we leave for the next half of the trip: the beach to the east. I will try to post as often as I can (and I have some pictures, too), but don't expect much until we get back to town on the 2nd. I am a bit limited on time and access. :)
